Analysis
As the oil circulates around the machine, it picks up contaminants and wear particles present in the system, gathering valuable information.
Realizing the importance of the Used Oil Analysis Program for trouble-free operation and reliability of equipment, "Petrochem Group" established a modern laboratory in Baku in 2005 in cooperation with "Castrol Offshore" and "Vernolab" (UK) companies. Prior to that year, samples for Waste Oil Analysis were sent to BP's laboratories in Dubai or the UK. This process significantly increased both operational time and costs. The advantages of a local laboratory are obvious: this initiative not only minimizes the operational time, but also reduces the costs of urgent delivery of samples to and from laboratories located in other countries. This laboratory also ensures that potential equipment failures are identified in time so that necessary preventive measures can be taken, thus reducing process downtime.
Regularly accurate analysis of used oil samples helps save money and improve safety by enabling:
- Optimizing the efficiency of lubricants
- Extending the life of machine and equipment details
- Minimizing maintenance requirements
- Identifying and eliminating potential problems before they occur
- Significantly reducing the risks of machinery failure, thus minimizing costs
Petrochem has created additional services within the oil sampling program in order to increase the efficiency of the sampling process as a whole and to reduce the number of human errors by eliminating any defects that may occur during the process. The main elements of this service are as follows:
- Selecting a used oil test program tailored to a particular lubricant and its application. Sample bottles are transported to and from offshore facilities in special Sea Transit Containers imported from the UK and certified for the transport of used oil samples.
- Supply of all necessary sampling devices as well as pre-printed labels for sample bottles.
- The customer receives a detailed Laboratory Analysis Report along with a Review Report containing suggested preventive/preventive measures to address any identified issues at the earliest stage.
Analytical Ferrography – Predictive Analysis
Ferrography is a powerful diagnostic tool used to monitor the overall condition of the machine rather than just the condition of the lubricant. We offer this service to evaluate the wear of machines by studying the particles separated from the used lubricant samples. The predictive analysis method allows:
- Determining which components are under stress
- Planning future maintenance programs
- Taking measures to prevent possible accidents and minimize the risks of catastrophic error and secondary damage
- Improve security
